What is the main function of hair in the human body?

what role hair do play in the human body as well as in the other animals?why human is having hair more hair on head,underarms%26amp;other places compaire to other places

and why human being had less hair compaire to other animals

What is the main function of hair in the human body?

To help the body in homeostasis of body temperature! Also will stand on end when frightened like a cat but due to evolving to have less hair you just get goosepimples!

We probably evolved to have less hair due to our ability to produce clothing!Possibly still have head hair as we either didnt produce hats, or it conferred some advantage such as preventing heatstroke(by protecting the back of the neck and forehead)or sexual selection.

What is the main function of hair in the human body?

warmth is the main function, although other reasons include: to trap sweat (under armpits) and to protect eyes (eyelashes), we have less hair now because we have evolved and wear clothes!

What is the main function of hair in the human body?

Hair offers some protection from the sun's rays on top of the head or from foreign particles entering the eyes (via the eyebrows/lashes), ears, and nose.

Hair is associated with sebaceous (oil) and sweat glands so wherever we tend to produce oil or sweat, we will have more hair.

Humans have less hair than other animals because we have evolved that way due to clothing. We are less reliant on hair to keep us warm than animals.

What is the main function of hair in the human body?

most of it has already been answered, but there is a small tid bit more that should be mentioned. Besides thermoregulation and the release of secretions (sweat mainly for most areas) We can't forget the importance of pheromones. Armpits and pubic areas are huge areas for scent secretion (something we are all aware of) but in those secretions, especially the pubic and armpit areas, are pheromones that act as little signals to those around us. We all smell them, but don't always recognize that we are. Attraction plays a huge part here as well as aggression in males. Here in america though we often cover them up or destroy them with the products we use, but they are there. Something to think about the next time sparks fly with someone.

What is the main function of hair in the human body?

Hair's major role is for protection. We have more hair in our head for protection of our skull, more hair in underarms and other body parts for protection of bacterias and other disease that can easily acquired. Less hair in our arms, legs, etc. because it needs to release water (perspiration) from our body. Animals have more hair compared to humans because animals need more protection for enemies/weather since they are not like humans who can take care of themselves.
